What is Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)?

Alternative Dispute Resolution provides a non-litigating approach to dealing with conflict that you might experience in either your professional or personal environment.

At Frances Gray Mediating, we work as Alternative Dispute Resolution Practitioners (or Mediators) who bring together the various parties involved in conflict. We give you  an opportunity to air your views and to be listened to in a calm, confidential atmosphere.

We aim to help you to understand what your conflict is about and perhaps to come to a mutually beneficial agreement over the issues in dispute.

We do not takes sides in the dispute or make judgements about your issues. We encourage each party to listen in respectful silence to the grievances of the other party. To this end, we promote effective discussion and exchange between the parties.

We emphasise the ideal of co-operation and understanding rather than competition and aggression.

We aim to help you and the other party to understand what the issues are from each other's perspective.

We assist in developing a trusting, open environment in which you are able to talk about how you feel and think about the conflict.
