WHAT IS PHILOSOPHY ?

Philosophical contemplation (questioning) is the primary driver of all the disciplines of knowledge, and of wisdom.

Driven by Wonder and the thirst to know, philosophy critically questions everything - even Philosophy itself - and calls for the investigation of the kinds of things that exist in the Cosmos; including human beings. Through philosophy we seek to establish how we know - and what we know - about observable, thinkable and aesthetic phenomena. And given what we know, what we ought to value - and therefore what we ought to do - to live authentic and fulfilling lives.

WHAT DO PHILOSOPHERS DO ?

Philosophers are free thinkers who have superior conceptual, research, and analytical skills. They are expert in the use of logic and in critical thinking. They employ reason, knowledge, imagination, and values to address problems, and to generate logically sound, objectively grounded, and just solutions. Philosophers are also concerned with Ethics: right and wrong (Justice), and they contemplate the most profound issue: the nature and the implications of Existence.

The end of Practical Philosophy is to do good for ourselves, for our fellow human beings, and ultimately, for all forms of Life. The means is to be found in rigorous universal education and training, and in the consequent intelligent and ethical resolution of personal, inter-personal, group, corporate, national, and international problems.
