Philosophy in practice – Philosophical Counselling - is a method that draws from the entire history of ideas and values in Philosophy and the Sciences: the ideas and values that have given rise to all human endeavours.
Inja speaks the following languages fluently: French, German, Croatian, Serbian, Ruthenian, and English. She also has a working knowledge of Latin, Old Greek and Classical Hebrew. Inja studied Philosophy, Theology, Logic, and Theory of Science at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich, in Germany. Inja grew up in Paris and lived in several European countries before moving to Australia. She is committed to the European intellectual tradition of humanistic engagement, and to the ideal of an independent personality.
Inja’s background is in human rights work, especially with war refugee children and adults from Afghanistan, Iraq, Former Yugoslavia, and Sierra Leone. She was involved in mental health research networking and in the project of interreligious dialogue with peace development strategies.
Together with her clients, Inja explores the origins of philosophical knowledge and its practical uses for life and for living. Inja aims to discover the connections between her clients’ personal beliefs and values, their experiences, and their political, artistic, social, religious and scientific views. In consequence, Inja’s clients come to understand themselves better. This is the first and most essential step toward an effective therapy.
Philosophical Counselling involves a dialogue relevant to the nature of Inja’s clients’ concerns. Inja’s approach aims to refresh her clients’ emotional and intellectual insights, and to thus provide them with a platform from which to resolve of their particular issues.
Inja provides a supportive and confidential environment and encourages her clients to speak openly and freely, and to reflect.
